The documentary You Can See Everything, centered on disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, has emerged as a major box office contender. During its second weekend, the film collected an impressive $19.5 million as it expanded to 2,655 venues, bringing its domestic total to $45 million.
Documentary Performance and Success
Directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, the documentary explores the downfall of Holmes, who is currently serving an 11-year prison sentence for fraud and conspiracy related to her biotech company's blood-testing technology. The film's success has prompted A24 to significantly expand its theatrical footprint. It currently stands as the highest-grossing non-musical documentary since Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 in 2004, with critics even suggesting it could potentially secure an Oscar nomination for Best Picture.
Weekend Box Office Rankings
The horror film Clayface, based on the Batman villain, maintained the top position at the box office following its debut weekend, earning $24 million from 3,458 North American theaters. Following the top two films, the stop-motion animation Wildwood debuted in third place with $11 million. The romantic fantasy Wicker took fourth with $6 million, while the sci-fi adaptation Klara and the Sun saw a quieter opening, collecting $725,000 from 880 theaters.
