Brewers Fans Flood Milwaukee for First World Series Victory Parade

Thousands of Milwaukee Brewers fans lined the streets of Milwaukee early Friday for a parade celebrating the franchise's first World Series championship. The team clinched the title Wednesday with a 4-1 series win over the Tampa Bay Rays.

Parade route and festivities

The parade runs through downtown and concludes with a fan festival at Henry Maier Festival Park near Lake Michigan. Milwaukee Public Schools canceled classes Friday to allow students and families to attend. A large police presence is planned to manage crowds and traffic.

Players honored at Packers game

On Thursday night, several Brewers players, including team captain Christian Yelich and pitcher Jacob Misiorowski, appeared at Lambeau Field during the Green Bay Packers game. They received a loud ovation, especially when pitcher Brandon Woodruff emerged carrying the Commissioner's Trophy. Outfielder Sal Frelick successfully attempted a "Lambeau Leap" into the crowd, and players later wore cheeseheads reading "2026 WS Champions."

Franchise history

The franchise began as the Seattle Pilots in 1969 before moving to Milwaukee and becoming the Brewers in 1970. Milwaukee previously celebrated a World Series title in 1957 when the Milwaukee Braves defeated the New York Yankees, before that team relocated to Atlanta in 1966.
