Richard Hammond says he wouldn't have quit The Grand Tour

Richard Hammond has revealed he would have continued presenting The Grand Tour if his co-stars Jeremy Clarkson and James May had not decided to end the show. The trio, along with executive producer Andy Wilman, had a pact to leave together.

Speaking on The High Performance Podcast, Hammond, 56, said the four-way agreement meant the partnership would end even if one member wanted to continue. "If the others had said let's carry on, I'd have carried on," he said. Clarkson, 66, previously cited age and health as reasons for stepping away.

The original presenters departed in 2024 after eight years, concluding with a special titled One For The Road. The series was revived this year with new hosts Francis Bourgeois, James Engelsman, and Thomas Holland, and has been renewed for a second season. The original trio offered support, with Clarkson making a cameo appearance.
