Lewis Hamilton has declared he is "built differently" from any Formula One driver in history and doubled down on his vow to continue racing into the 2030s, ahead of this weekend's Mexican Grand Prix.

Hamilton targets Rwanda race in 2030s

The seven-time world champion, 41, said he plans to stay in the sport long enough to compete in a proposed Grand Prix in Rwanda, scheduled for the early 2030s. That would make him at least 45 when the race takes place. Hamilton dismissed suggestions that age could hinder his performance, citing his reaction time in the previous race as faster than some younger drivers.

Strong season with Ferrari

After a challenging debut season with Ferrari in 2025, Hamilton has secured a maiden win for the Scuderia in Barcelona this June. He believes he has proven he can still compete at the highest level and is currently in contention to finish second in the drivers' championship, battling four drivers behind runaway leader Kimi Antonelli, who is 21 years his junior.

No plans to overstay

Hamilton acknowledged that future challenges with age are unforeseeable but insisted he remains fully committed. "As long as you are willing to sacrifice everything, which I am right now... I am still all in," he said. He added that he does not want to overstay his welcome if performance drops off, but noted that critics assumed he would decline last year and he proved them wrong.
