Bryan Adams Releases Song Criticizing Trump's Lake Ontario Rebrand

By Islam El-Sakka

Canadian pop star Bryan Adams has released a new song criticizing President Donald Trump's executive order renaming Lake Ontario to "Lake America." The track, titled "Lake Ontario," appears as a bonus track on Adams' latest album.

Lyrics Target Trump's Policies

The song's lyrics state, "It's a first nations name, not an executive order," and compare Trump's decision to "a baby tossing the toys from the pram." The verses also reference Trump's ties to Jeffrey Epstein, suggesting the rebranding serves as a distraction while "the Epstein files were getting traction."

Adams' Background and Previous Criticism

Adams, 66, was raised in Kingston, Ontario, and has sold more than 75 million records worldwide. He previously released a song critical of Trump earlier this summer.

Strained U.S.-Canada Relations

The release comes amid deteriorating relations between the two countries. Since Trump returned to office, he has imposed steep tariffs on Canada and repeatedly threatened to make it the "51st state." Prime Minister Mark Carney likened the tariffs to an act of war, and recent polls show 41 percent of Canadians now view the U.S. as an enemy.
