Alison Hammond tells critics to 'mind your business' over age gap

Television presenter Alison Hammond, 51, has hit back at online critics questioning the 22-year age gap in her relationship with model David Putman, 29, telling them to "mind your business." The pair have been together since 2023.

Hammond dismisses criticism in Attitude interview

Speaking to Attitude magazine, the This Morning and Great British Bake Off host said she disregards commentary about her romance, adding that people spend far too much time worrying about other people's relationships. "If two consenting adults are happy, loved, respected and making each other laugh, what exactly is the problem?" she said.

Relationship built on laughter and differences

Hammond said one of the things she loves most is their ability to make each other laugh. She noted they are different in many ways but those differences make the relationship interesting, describing it as a "human multi-generational home" where she brings life experience and he brings youth.

Recent health scare and vulnerability

Earlier this month, Hammond revealed she suffered a breakdown live on This Morning in October, experiencing heart palpitations and a panic attack. While accepting Attitude's Honorary Gay Award, she spoke about the vulnerability of suddenly being a person struggling rather than making others laugh, saying she is learning that vulnerability is not a weakness.

Career background

Hammond rose to fame in 2002 as a contestant on Big Brother. She currently presents This Morning on Fridays and co-hosts The Great British Bake Off with Noel Fielding.
