England secured their first victory in seven one-day internationals in Pakistan with a 55-run win over Sri Lanka in a dead rubber of the tri-series at Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday.
Duckett's century powers England
Ben Duckett struck a sparkling 167 off 132 balls, his second consecutive hundred and third in four innings at the Lahore ground, where he also recorded his previous ODI best of 165. Tom Banton contributed 74 at the top of the order as England posted 386 for five after being sent in.
Sri Lanka's chase falls short
Pavan Rathnayake hit a rapid 118 off 77 balls but lacked support from the middle order. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 331, with Liam Dawson claiming four wickets for England.
First win in Pakistan since 2023
The victory ended a winless run that saw England fail to defend 429 against the same opponents a week earlier. The morale-boosting result comes ahead of England's white-ball tour of Australia.
