Sergio Garcia has confirmed he will return to the DP World Tour next season, becoming the latest high-profile player to depart LIV Golf.

Garcia confirms DP World Tour return

The 46-year-old Spaniard, who captained the Fireballs GC team since joining LIV in 2022, announced the move on social media. He also left open the possibility of returning to the PGA Tour.

Career highlights and LIV record

Garcia won the 2017 Masters, has 11 PGA Tour titles and 16 DP World Tour victories. He won two LIV Golf events in 2024 and 2025. His best 2026 finish was runner-up in Virginia.

Legal context and LIV uncertainty

Garcia requested a federal judge to terminate his LIV contract after the league filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September. LIV Golf aims to continue under a "LIV 2.0" plan after Saudi PIF withdrew support.

Growing exodus from LIV Golf

He joins a growing list of players not returning, including Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Ian Poulter, Louis Oosthuizen, Graeme McDowell, David Puig, Abraham Ancer, Adrian Meronk, and Thomas Pieters.

Masters redemption and Ryder Cup ambition

Garcia addressed his 2025 Masters incident where he damaged a tee box and broke his driver. He aims to return to Augusta in 2027 and target another green jacket. He also wants to make the European Ryder Cup team at Adare Manor in Ireland next year.

"It's a big year ahead with the Ryder Cup, and I'm going to work my tail off for every chance I can get at more Majors and the biggest events in the game," he wrote.
