James Acaster, a 41-year-old comedian, has responded to being labeled an "accidental sex symbol" following his appearance on the BBC game show Celebrity Traitors. He said the attention is "quite nice" after feeling unfancied post-lockdown.

Acaster, who plays a traitor alongside TV presenter Maya Jama and content creator King Kenny, described his strategy as behaving like a faithful contestant to avoid suspicion. The show's penultimate episode airs Thursday, with the finale Friday.

The comedian discussed the reaction on the Vinylly Retentive podcast, noting that fans have created compilation videos of him. Patrick Kielty, host of The Late Late Show, coined the "accidental sex symbol" description.
