Jamie Lee Curtis earned widespread praise for her impersonation of Elizabeth Holmes during a cold open on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, spoofing the new A24 documentary "You Can See Everything."
Cold open reenacts viral documentary moment
Curtis, 67, wore a blonde wig and heavy blush to mimic Holmes, while Fallon donned a salt-and-pepper wig to portray Nathan Fielder. The sketch recreated a tense exchange from the documentary's trailer, with Curtis delivering Holmes' lines in a low voice: "Why would I deceive you? There's no reason for me to do that."
Documentary examines Holmes before prison
"You Can See Everything," co-directed by Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, follows the disgraced Theranos founder in the month before she surrendered to Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, where she is serving an 11-year sentence for fraud and conspiracy. The film has grossed over $45 million in two weeks.
Celebrities and viewers react
Social media users called Curtis' performance "spot on" and "Oscar winning." Celebrities including Rita Wilson, Naomi Watts, and Liev Schreiber praised the spoof on Instagram. Fallon's impression of Fielder also drew acclaim for mirroring the comedian's mannerisms and awkward pauses.
