Formula 1 returns to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez this weekend for the Mexican Grand Prix, round 19 of the 2026 season, with Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli on the brink of securing the world championship.

Title contenders and standings

The 20-year-old Italian leads the drivers' standings with 365 points, holding a 123-point advantage over teammate George Russell and a 124-point lead over Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari. Antonelli can clinch the title in Mexico City by finishing ninth or higher; even if he fails to score, Russell or Hamilton would need to win the race to extend the championship fight to Brazil.

Weekend schedule

All times are GMT. Free practice 1 begins Friday at 6:30pm, followed by free practice 2 at 10pm. Saturday features free practice 3 at 5:30pm and qualifying at 9pm. The race starts Sunday at 8pm.

TV and streaming coverage

In the United Kingdom, Sky Sports will broadcast every session live, with race coverage starting at 6:30pm BST. Sky subscribers can stream via Sky Go, while non-subscribers can purchase a NOWTV Day Pass. In the United States, all sessions are streamed on Apple TV, which offers a seven-day free trial.

Driver and constructor standings

Behind Antonelli, Russell sits second with 242 points and Hamilton third with 241. Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) round out the top five. In the constructors' championship, Mercedes leads with 607 points, followed by Ferrari (474) and Red Bull (355).
