Jake Paul’s business partner Nakisa Bidarian says the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s passion for the sport has not wavered since his knockout loss to Anthony Joshua last December, as Paul prepares to return to the ring on Christmas Eve in Dubai.
Bidarian: Paul’s motivation unchanged
Bidarian, who co-runs Most Valuable Promotions with Paul, told The Independent that the 29-year-old went through a range of emotions after the defeat, which left him with a broken jaw requiring multiple surgeries. “We would never consider Jake Paul coming back to boxing unless his love and motivation for boxing was the same – if not more – than what it was before the Anthony Joshua fight,” Bidarian said. He added that Paul is in a fortunate financial position and does not need boxing for money, so his return is driven purely by desire for the sport.
Paul confirms Christmas Eve fight in Dubai
Paul announced via press release on Thursday that he will fight on Dec. 24 in Dubai against an opponent yet to be named. “I’m hungrier than ever, and on Thursday, 24 December, I'm returning to the ring in Dubai to start the next chapter of my journey,” Paul said. He added that several potential opponents are under consideration.
Paul’s boxing record
Paul’s professional record includes wins over former UFC fighters Nate Diaz, Ben Askren, Mike Perry, Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley, as well as former world champions Mike Tyson and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. His only loss came against Tommy Fury by decision in 2023. A potential rematch with Fury has been discussed but remains uncertain.
