Gary Neville Demands Glazer Family Sell Manchester United Amid Crisis

By Islam El-Sakka

Former Manchester United defender and pundit Gary Neville has urged the Glazer family to sell the club following further turmoil at Old Trafford. The team sits just one point above the Premier League relegation zone after eight games without a win, with Michael Carrick remaining in charge despite mounting speculation over his future.

Neville Criticizes Glazer Ownership

Speaking on the Stick to Football show, Neville highlighted the club's £1.2bn debt and criticized the Glazers for failing to invest in the stadium while attempting to borrow £2bn for a new ground. He noted the family's absence from Old Trafford for over 20 years and argued that 13 years of footballing failure since Sir Alex Ferguson's departure justify a sale.

United's Poor Form and Financial Strain

Despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Ineos taking over football operations more than two years ago, the club remains in crisis. United have spent nearly £1.4bn on players in the last 15 years, second only to Manchester City, but much of that expenditure has been financed through debt. The team now prepares to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, while rival managers Xabi Alonso and others also face pressure after recent defeats.
