Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has been discharged from hospital after collapsing during a training session last Friday. The 40-year-old Belgian was diagnosed with meningeal irritation, the club's director of sport Max Eberl confirmed.
Diagnosis and recovery
Eberl told German broadcaster ARD that Kompany had been admitted to hospital on Friday after falling ill while watching the club's second team train. The director of sport said the coach was "doing well given the circumstances" and would now rest and take medication. Eberl expressed confidence Kompany would return to the touchline soon at full capacity.
