Young Sheldon Star Emily Osment Requested Intimacy Coordinator

By TheWorldNews7 News Desk

Emily Osment, known for her role as Mandy McAllister in the hit sitcom Young Sheldon, has revealed that she requested an intimacy coordinator on set due to concerns regarding the age gap between her and co-star Montana Jordan.

Concerns Over Age Gap and Comfort

At the time of filming their initial episodes, Osment was 30 years old, while Jordan was 18. According to details from Jessica Radloff's new book, Young Sheldon: The Inside Story of the Hit Comedy, Osment expressed discomfort regarding the filming of kissing scenes. She noted that the age difference made the situation uneasy, describing Jordan as a "baby" at the time.

Osment reached out to producer Tim Marx to address the issue. While a coordinator could not be secured immediately for the first scenes, one was provided for subsequent episodes as the relationship between the characters escalated. Osment emphasized the importance of having a professional on set to make the process easier and expressed her desire to ensure Jordan also felt comfortable and had the option to request such support.

Production Response and Reflections

Director Alex Reid acknowledged the challenges faced during those early scenes, admitting that he and others "totally dropped the ball." He noted that the discomfort was not solely due to the absence of a coordinator, but also the inherent awkwardness of filming intimate scenes with a co-star they had only recently met.

Co-creator Steve Molaro supported Osment's decision, stating that she had every right to request professional assistance on set to manage the sensitive nature of the scenes.
