Chris Hansen, host of "To Catch a Predator," has issued an open invitation to actor Robert Pattinson to meet and discuss Pattinson's portrayal of him in the A24 thriller "Primetime."
Hansen's podcast invitation
On his podcast "Have a Seat with Chris Hansen," the 67-year-old journalist said he realized both he and Pattinson have been fielding questions about each other. He invited Pattinson to appear on the show to talk about the film and his career, even offering to meet in London where Pattinson is reportedly filming a Batman movie.
Prior criticism of 'Primetime'
Hansen has previously criticized the film as "a completely made up work of fiction" and said he was not consulted during its making. He told The Hollywood Reporter the use of his name and likeness seemed "sneaky and disingenuous," arguing the trailer depicts events that never happened in real life. Hansen added that he is not obsessed with the movie, focusing instead on his ongoing work catching predators.
Background on 'To Catch a Predator'
The original series became a controversial sensation before its 2008 cancellation following the suicide of an assistant district attorney caught in a sting operation, which was captured on camera by the show's crew.
