Flávio Bolsonaro, the defeated right-wing presidential candidate in Brazil, has arrived in Miami, Florida, following his loss in Sunday's election to incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Travel despite court order
Despite a Supreme Court order to surrender his passports, Bolsonaro left Brazil and traveled to Miami via Ecuador. The trip came a day after the Trump administration granted visas to him and his family.
Family background and legal troubles
Flávio is the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, a Trump ally who is currently serving a prison sentence for plotting a coup after losing the 2022 election to Lula. Flávio himself faces investigations, including alleged money laundering and millions in dealings with banker Vorcaro.
