Former White House press secretary Katie Zacharia has criticized her recent interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, describing it as unexpectedly hostile.
Brief tenure and criticism
Zacharia served only five days in the role and held a single press briefing that drew widespread mockery. She faced scrutiny for repeatedly referring to herself as a lawyer despite having failed the bar exam.
Hannity interview fallout
Appearing on Newsmax's "Finnerty" program, Zacharia said she was unprepared for Hannity's aggressive questioning about her legal credentials. She noted that Hannity had previously defended her publicly, making the hostile turn surprising.
Trump's involvement and future plans
Former President Donald Trump reportedly suggested Zacharia reconsider her position amid the controversy. She stated she would work for Trump again "in a heartbeat," though she may not return as press secretary. Zacharia proposed Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo as a potential successor.
