Heineken CEO sees 'more to do' despite stronger beer sales

By Islam El-Sakka

Heineken's new chief executive Rafa Oliveira said there is "more to do" to accelerate progress despite the Dutch brewing giant reporting stronger beer demand in the third quarter of 2026.

Sales growth driven by global brands

Net revenues rose 4.6% to 8.1 billion euros (£6.8 billion) in the quarter, driven by a 4.8% volume increase to 76 megalitres. The company's five top global brands — Heineken, Amstel, Birra Moretti, Tiger and Desperados — grew 9.9%, while low and no-alcohol brands such as Heineken 0.0 posted double-digit growth.

New CEO outlines priorities

Oliveira, who joined Heineken earlier this month from coffee and tea maker JDE Peet's, said his first impressions were positive but highlighted the need to sharpen execution, increase pace and build a stronger performance culture with greater accountability across the business.
