Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of non-league footballer Ezekiel Williams, 26, in Milton Keynes. Williams, from London, died in hospital on Monday after an assault in the early hours of Sunday on Midsummer Boulevard. Thames Valley Police launched a murder investigation and have taken two men, aged 21 and 28, and a third man, aged 30, all from Luton, into custody.
Arrests made
The two younger men were arrested on suspicion of murder, while the 30-year-old was detained on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three remain in custody as detectives continue their inquiries. Detective Inspector Rob Underhill said the force does not believe there is any wider risk to the local community and that specially trained family liaison officers are supporting Williams’ relatives.
Victim remembered by club
Kettering Town FC, for whom Williams played as a box-to-box midfielder during the 2024-25 season, paid tribute to him as a "talented, kind, and truly inspirational individual." The club highlighted his leadership qualities, humble approach, and strong faith. Williams previously played for FC Romania, Northwood, and Harrow Borough. A GoFundMe page has been established in his memory.
Police appeal for witnesses
Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Midsummer Boulevard and The Hub between 1am and 2am on Sunday to come forward.
