West Ham United staged a remarkable comeback to draw 3-3 with Cardiff City in Scott Parker's first match as manager on Wednesday.

Moylan's hat-trick puts Cardiff in control

Jack Moylan scored three times in the first half to give Cardiff a 3-0 lead at the break. The forward opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a fierce strike from 20 yards, added a penalty after being fouled by Morato, and completed his hat-trick with a header from a corner in the 39th minute. It was Moylan's first club treble since May 2023 and his 10th goal of the season.

Hammers rally after half-time changes

Parker introduced Mohamadou Kante and Joel Piroe at the interval, and West Ham responded with three goals in 20 minutes. Divine Mukasa lifted the ball over the goalkeeper in the 58th minute after a pass from captain Jarrod Bowen. Arne Engels slid home his first goal for the club seven minutes later, and Max Kilman turned in Bowen's cross to level the score. Substitutes Ezra Mayers and Tomas Soucek came close to snatching a winner late on.

Parker's appointment follows Nuno's departure

Parker was confirmed as head coach on Wednesday morning, just 24 hours after Nuno Espirito Santo left the club following a run of two wins in six matches. The draw extends Cardiff's unbeaten home league run to 10 games across two seasons, while West Ham remain in the final play-off place in eighth position.
