Former President Barack Obama declared that the 2026 midterm elections delivered a clear message from American voters rejecting divisive politics, as Democrats secured major victories in both chambers of Congress.
In a social media post, Obama said the results reflected a desire for politics that brings people together rather than divides them, praising candidates who won in former Republican strongholds like Texas and North Carolina.
He thanked election officials and volunteers, and urged continued work to prevent further damage and lay groundwork for the future during the remaining two years of the current administration.
