By Islam El-Sakka

Millions of Americans voted Tuesday in the 2026 midterm elections that will determine control of Congress for the final two years of President Donald Trump's term.

Long Lines at Polling Stations

Long queues formed at polling stations across the country, from Fairfax, Virginia, to Boulder City, Nevada, with some voters bringing young children and others casting ballots at unconventional venues such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Arlington.

Candidates Make Final Push

In Michigan, the Senate race between Democrat Abdul El-Sayed and Republican former congressman Mike Rogers drew close attention, while in Iowa Republican incumbent Ashley Hinson campaigned in Dubuque and a supporter dressed as Uncle Sam backed Democratic candidate Josh Turek.

Key Senate Races

Texas Democrats pinned hopes on James Talarico, who held a final rally Monday, while President Trump appeared days earlier to support his Republican opponent, Ken Paxton.

Other notable campaigns included Republican Senator Susan Collins greeting supporters at a market in Maine, Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff addressing voters in Georgia, and Mike Rogers of Michigan speaking against a backdrop of American flags in the campaign's final days.
