Haas F1 team has confirmed that Esteban Ocon will not compete in the remaining rounds of the 2026 Formula 1 season, with the French driver replaced by Ferrari academy prospect Rafael Camara for this weekend’s Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Ocon removed after Mexico incident
Ocon was dropped midway through the previous round in Mexico City, though the American-owned team did not publicly explain the decision at the time. The 28-year-old denied reports of a violent altercation but acknowledged a disagreement with team management. He had already been set to leave Haas at the end of the season.
Team cites internal matter
In a statement, Haas said the decision was made in the best interest of the team moving forward. Team principal Ayao Komatsu described the situation as an internal matter and declined to elaborate on the conversations that led to Ocon’s departure. Komatsu added that such decisions are never made lightly.
Camara to partner Bearman at home race
Camara, the current Formula 2 championship leader, will make his Formula 1 debut alongside British driver Ollie Bearman at the Brazilian’s home Grand Prix. The 19-year-old Brazilian steps up from the Ferrari Driver Academy for the final two rounds of the campaign.
