A High Court judge dismissed an injunction bid by an unnamed famous man seeking to prevent two media organizations from publishing allegations about him, but granted permission to appeal the ruling. Mr Justice Nicklin made the decision on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, after a two-day trial in London.
Legal Action and Allegations
The man brought legal action against Independent Television News (ITN), which produces news for ITV, Channel 4, Good Morning Britain and Channel 5, and Guardian News and Media (GNM), publisher of The Guardian. Lawyers for the media organizations told the court the allegations involve the man's alleged "abuse of power and status" to contact young women and attempt to engage in "inappropriate and exploitative sexual activities." The man sought an injunction citing a risk he would take his own life, following two previous suicide attempts.
