Coleen Nolan Says Strictly Come Dancing Producers 'Don't Want Me'

By Islam El-Sakka

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has revealed her long-standing desire to compete on Strictly Come Dancing, stating that producers have never invited her to participate.

Appearance on Good Morning Britain

During an interview on ITV's Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, host Susanna Reid asked Nolan why she had not been approached for the BBC dance competition. Nolan, 61, responded that she had "wanted to do it forever" but had never even received an interview.

Other Loose Women Stars on Strictly

Several of Nolan's Loose Women colleagues have competed on the series, including Kaye Adams in 2022, Judi Love in 2021, and Ruth Langsford in 2017. Frankie Bridge, Katie Piper, and Penny Lancaster have also appeared on both programmes.

Joking About Rejection

When pressed on why she might have been overlooked, Nolan joked that "obviously someone there doesn't like me." Asked which professional dancer she would prefer as a partner, she said any would be "fabulous," naming Aljaž Škorjanec and Kai Widdrington as favorites.

Reality Television Background

Nolan, a former singer with The Nolans, has been a relief anchor on Loose Women since 2014 after first appearing in 2000. She has previously competed on Dancing on Ice and won Celebrity Big Brother in 2017.

Strictly's 24th Series

Strictly Come Dancing is currently midway through its 24th series on BBC One. The show underwent significant changes following behind-the-scenes controversies and the departure of hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly last year.
