Former U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly pushing for a plan that would allow Russia to resume natural gas sales to Europe through Ukraine's pipeline network, according to recent reports.
The proposal would mark a significant shift in energy policy, potentially restoring Russian gas flows that were largely halted following Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Ukraine's pipeline system has historically served as a key transit route for Russian gas destined for European markets. Any restoration of such flows would require cooperation between Washington, Moscow, and Kyiv.
Details of the plan, including potential security guarantees or economic terms, have not been publicly disclosed.
