Iran’s missile strikes on more than two dozen U.S. military bases in the Middle East initially targeted early warning air defense systems before hitting aircraft and buildings, according to an Associated Press analysis published Saturday.
Strikes Focused on Air Defenses First
The AP analysis found that the Iranian attacks damaged or destroyed U.S. air defenses, aircraft, or buildings across the bases. The strikes prioritized early warning systems, which are critical for detecting incoming threats, before moving on to other assets.
