Bricklaying robots have constructed an entire apartment building in the Netherlands, marking a milestone for autonomous construction technology. Robotics company Monumental released footage on Thursday showing its robots operating on curved scaffolding at a building site in Almere.
Advanced Bricklaying Capabilities
Company founder Salar al Khafaji said the project demonstrated the robots' ability to lay a curved wall using different brick types, various brick bonds, and indented text within the brickwork.
Neighbourhood-Scale Deployment
Monumental added that its robots have also begun building an entire neighbourhood in the Groningen area, a project encompassing more than 100 houses and a hotel.
