The United States has approved a $2.1 billion sale of Patriot missile systems to Ukraine, marking a significant boost to Kyiv's air defense capabilities amid the ongoing war with Russia.
The deal includes advanced Patriot interceptors and related equipment designed to counter ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as aircraft. The sale comes as Ukraine continues to face sustained Russian aerial attacks on its energy infrastructure and front-line positions.
This latest military aid package underscores Washington's continued commitment to supporting Ukraine's defense nearly four years after Russia's full-scale invasion began. The Patriot system has proven critical in protecting Ukrainian cities and military assets from long-range strikes.
