Jet2 has introduced its first aircraft configured exclusively for business-class travel, a Boeing 737-800NG based at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. The plane, which recently flew its first charter customers, features 76 business-class seats with a minimum of 43 inches of legroom and upgraded catering tailored to charter groups.
Targeting Premium Charter Market
The low-cost carrier said the move responds to demand from sports, music, entertainment and specialist groups seeking privacy, comfort, flexibility and an elevated travel experience. Standard Jet2 aircraft are configured with 189 seats.
Positive Early Feedback
Trevor Caplis, head of charter and airline sales at Jet2, described the development as incredibly exciting for charter customers. He said early feedback has praised the premium feel, generous personal space and exclusive onboard environment, adding that the luxurious cabin combined with Jet2's award-winning customer service is set to be a hit this winter.
The launch follows British Airways' recent unveiling of a revamped first-class product on its A380 fleet, described as emulating a luxury hotel in the sky.
