King Charles has arrived in Guyana for a state visit, marking the next leg of his Caribbean tour after a stop in the Bahamas where he was seen dancing. The visit comes amid growing calls for a formal apology for the historical role of the British monarchy in the transatlantic slave trade.
Guyanese officials and activists have urged the King to acknowledge the legacy of slavery during his visit. The tour continues a series of engagements across the region following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
