An attendee at a Donald Trump rally in Rock Hill, South Carolina, mocked a Fox News reporter on Thursday by likening the MAGA faithful to the Jonestown suicide cult. The rally, held to support Darline Graham, sister of the late Senator Lindsey Graham, in her race against Democrat Annie Andrews, featured an exchange between reporter Lucas Tomlinson and a man identified only as Tom.
Jonestown reference
When asked why he attended, Tom said he was too young in the late 1970s to join the Jonestown massacre in Guyana, where over 900 cult members died, but that the rally was "as close as I'll ever get." Pressed to clarify, he added, "there's nothing like seeing a cult right up front, man."
