UK communications regulator Ofcom has indicated how a proposed social media ban for children under 16 might be implemented, offering the clearest picture yet of the government's plan to restrict young users' access to major platforms.
The regulator's guidance suggests the ban would focus on age-verification requirements and platform accountability rather than outright prohibition, with Ofcom expected to enforce compliance through fines and potential service restrictions for non-compliant companies.
