Former President Barack Obama dismissed Donald Trump's angry reaction to his joke comparing the White House decor to a Cheesecake Factory, saying Trump took "great umbrage" at the restaurant reference but ignored the Saddam Hussein comparison.
Obama's original quip
Obama had previously quipped that his successor "got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory."
Trump's retort
Trump responded by claiming he had "fixed" the White House with "the finest artisans in the world," adding that Obama's comment showed "why you were a lousy president."
Obama's rebuttal
Speaking on Wednesday, Obama said Trump was not bothered by the Saddam Hussein comparison but was "very upset about the Cheesecake Factory comments."
