The National Lottery is urging people in Tameside, Greater Manchester, to check their tickets after a £1 million prize from the 1 July draw remains unclaimed. The ticket holder has until midnight on 28 December to come forward before the prize expires.

Winning numbers and deadline

The winning numbers for the 1 July Lotto draw were 5, 8, 26, 33, 39, 42, with a Bonus Ball of 54. Under National Lottery rules, winners have six months to claim their prize, leaving less than two months for the Tameside ticket holder to claim the £1 million.

Search for the missing millionaire

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at National Lottery operator Allwyn, said he has searched across Tameside without success. He urged anyone who bought a ticket in the area for the 1 July draw to check their numbers, noting the winning ticket could be tucked away somewhere ordinary.

Other unclaimed prizes

The National Lottery is also trying to locate a £12 million ticket holder in Wales, where a ticket purchased in Rhondda Cynon Taf in June remains unclaimed. In July, the operator investigated a claim from a woman who said her winning ticket had been mistakenly thrown away.
