Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has made his first public statement since landing in Miami, denying allegations that he fled Brazil. Bolsonaro arrived in the United States in recent days following the inauguration of his successor, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
In his initial remarks after reaching US soil, Bolsonaro rejected suggestions that his departure constituted an escape from potential legal scrutiny in Brazil. The former leader has faced multiple investigations since leaving office, though he has not been charged with any crime.
